Culver City Residence
This homeowner in Culver City was near retirement and wanted to update her backyard with a very low-maintenance, drought-tolerant xeriscape, full of succulents and capturing more of a southwest feel. She also had small dogs and previously kept them penned in to a small fenced-in area off the driveway that was unattractive. We completely removed her cracked and damaged existing concrete driveway and poured a new driveway and patios in a stamped and stained concrete pattern, to resemble a tiled look with color tones that would bring in her southwest aesthetic. We also removed all grass and replaced it with planter beds filled with succulents, palm trees, and stones. Finally, we reconfigured her dog pen and constructed half walls around it, clad in a faux stone to compliment the color palette and the new driveway material. The result was a desert oasis for her to begin enjoying her retirement.
